My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; to do so with some passion, compassion, humor and style. My goal is to light a fire under enough people to free them from the ‘limited potential’ constraints that have been set up in their own minds; a paradigm shift from scarcity and lack, towards love and abundance.

Which Provides You with Better Value?

Which Provides You with Better Value?

There is definitely an ever-growing importance of online marketing organizations, of all sizes, that are starting to realize they need to figure out where to invest their energy.

According to Jupiter Research, 81% of users find their desired destination through a search engine. That is massive! With that being said, it is pretty darn important to get your company in good standing with search results!

Many companies must decide, what is the best approach of doing so.

SEO – naturally ranking in organic results

or

PPC – Pay Per Click, Sponsored Links, or Google Ads

SEO BREAKDOWN

SEO or Search Engine Optimization traffic is achieved by reaching high rankings in the natural search results.

When using SEO, organic results are generated.

Following SEO best practices will allow your site to get displayed on these pages more prominently and more often.

PPC Breakdown

PPC or Pay Per Click enables you to quickly get your website listed on the sponsored results section of search engines by paying for it.

You pay a fee based on how competitive your chosen keyword is whenever a new viewer clicks through from your ad to your website.

the battle continues

I have this amazing graphic I give credit to Siteber, which breaks down the pros and cons of each method!

Both are highly effective at achieving a companies desired result of being in front of their target audience.

With anything, both methods have both their respective pros and cons.

I was reading an article from newmediacampaigns that pointed me in the direction of SeoMoz (one of the greatest SEO resources on the net) – which sent me to a publishing done by Enquisite that quantified SEO vs PPC

what were the results?

Organic results are 8.5 times more likely to be clicked on rather than paid search results. This may be due in part that users are starting to clue in, what a paid ad looks like, and what an organic search looks like. They are recognizing that organic results are the more trusted of the two.

PPC, has a slightly higher percentage in conversion rates than organic results, as paid search results are 1.5 times more likely to convert click throughs from the search engine. The opportunity from organic search is 5.66 times that of paid media

If that is the case, obviously everyone would love to “go organic” and be the number one spot on google tomorrow!

In all reality, that is not the case, organic takes time!

In order to combat the time it takes to acquire organic search results – PPC helps to bridge that gap. PPC is speedy, effective, and expansive. The only downside, cost in financial terms.

The cost may be anywhere from a few pennies, to a few dollars per click! If done properly, a well-run ad campaign can run a pretty high price tag. It is also not a guarantee of anyone actually buying anything from you as well.

conclusion

From this research we can conclude that for the long term, SEO will win everytime. If you are getting your company just off the ground, and are needing to get your name out there. PPC alongside an SEO strategy is a great way to move forward in acquiring greater business.

We have to realize, SEO is not an overnight strategy. PPC is a great strategy to bridge the gap between the time it takes to achieve the high spots in the rankings and just starting out your business.
